Science Meets Somatics

Health • Empowerment • Awareness • Love

At H.E.A.L., we bridge clinically informed care with embodied healing science. Our work draws on Neurosomatic Intelligence (NSI), which explores how the nervous system shapes symptoms, stress responses, and immune function, alongside Whole Health Medicine Institute (WHMI) frameworks that provide structured, integrative pathways for care. We also incorporate neurocircuitry symptom reprocessing and a strong foundation in evidence-based medicine, biology, and clinical insight.

This approach is not alternative. It is evidence-informed, nervous system–aware, and grounded in real human experience.

As a clinician, scientist, and educator, I see my role as both practical and progressive. I am a doctor driven by a deeper mission to advance truly human-centered medicine and reshape how health is understood and delivered. I train practitioners worldwide in nervous system–informed oncology and advocate for a broader shift in healthcare, one that places nervous system care at its core.

This is why I contribute to platforms ranging from Cancerworld to the United Nations. Because both medical care as a whole, and cancer care specifically, must evolve to support the full human experience.

A New Invitation to Healing

To patients: You are not broken. Your nervous system is adaptive, and with the right guidance, it can relearn safety and wellness.

To practitioners and thought leaders: consider nervous system care not as optional, but foundational. Whether in oncology, primary care, mental health, or wellness coaching, nervous system-based care is where healing potential lives.

To the world: Healing is not only about survival. It is about presence, joy, resilience, and connection.

And if you’re truly ready for a partner in this journey, Dr Aleksandra Filipovic and The H.E.A.L. Clinic stand as compassionate, credible, innovative guides, champions of whole-body healing in a fragmented world.

About Me, In My Words

I didn’t find medicine, it found me.

I grew up in a household shaped by medical oncology and nuclear physics: my mother a professor of oncology, my father a medical nuclear physicist. I was handed a proverbial pipette and a stethoscope as early as the age of 5. From such an early age, I absorbed scientific inquiry, patient stories, and the way medicine shows up in real lives.

I trained intensively through medical school during war times in Serbia, then  earned my PhD in cancer cell biology at Imperial College in London hereafter, and built a career I only could have once dreamed of: practicing medicine in clinic, leading clinical research, and directing drug development oncology programs. But something didn’t add up.

I saw patients thrive despite severe diagnoses, while others struggled long after remission. The patterns weren’t only biological, they were neurological, emotional, and adaptive.

At the same time, I lived my own health journey. Years of perfectionism, porous boundaries in personal and professional relationships, acute and chronic stress from war in the country to family drama, and all the unprocessed imprints these events left within my body, eventually surfaced as an auto-immune ulcerative colitis. I realized firsthand that symptoms can be and very often are deeply interlinked with self abandonment, inconsistencies in life, hardships through which we learn to adapt and survive.  They are neurological outputs shaped by experience, belief, survival responses, and nervous system safety or lack thereof.

That realization became the pivot point for my own innerwork.

I began to study the nervous system’s role in survival and healing. I pursued advanced training in Neurosomatic Intelligence (NSI), the Whole Health Medicine Institute (WHMI) frameworks, and trauma-informed care.

I didn’t leave science behind, I expanded it. And I returned to the truth.

CERTIFICATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS

Medicine Existed Before Illness Did

Healing teaches us something medicine alone cannot explain. You don’t have to travel far to find yourself, but you do need the right support. People who can hold space as your body unwinds the patterns it learned to survive.

Healing is not a one-time event. It is a lifestyle. A relationship with your body, your nervous system, and the deeper intelligence within you.

Trauma and past experiences shape how the body responds to stress, relationships, and the world. These patterns influence the nervous system, the immune system, and the body’s capacity to heal. Through integrative, biosomatic approaches, I help patients recognize and move beyond them, so health becomes something sustainable rather than something constantly chased.

My life has always been rooted in both science and care. It is a privilege to walk alongside patients as they reconnect with their capacity to heal.

Somewhere between a prescription, a blood test, and a scan, there is a whole person. Somewhere between a relationship you may be wishing to mend or leave and that next paycheck, there is the unfolding of a very human experience.

Somewhere between no longer and not yet, there is a space. This is where you begin to reclaim your story, your health, and your power.

The H.E.A.L Clinic Approach

Health – Empowerment – Awareness – Love

The H.E.A.L. Method is a trauma-informed, medically grounded framework that integrates clinical training with Neurosomatic Intelligence (NSI), Whole Health Medicine Institute (WHMI) principles, neurocircuitry symptom reprocessing, and biosomatic healing. It views health as a dynamic relationship between the nervous system, lived experience, beliefs, and the body’s capacity to adapt.

Chronic illness is often more complex than a diagnosis. Symptoms like pain, fatigue, autoimmune flares, and anxiety can arise from a nervous system in prolonged survival. Rather than seeing the body as failing, this approach understands symptoms as meaningful signals shaped by stress, trauma, and adaptation.

The goal is not to override the body, but to help it relearn safety. Through inquiry, embodied practices, and nervous system retraining, we explore how patterns, beliefs, and identity influence physiology. As these shift, the body often responds with greater regulation and resilience.

This work does not replace medical care, it expands it. By addressing nervous system regulation and the impact of chronic stress, it supports deeper, more sustainable healing beyond symptom management.
